Saint Timothy Academy Opens in Grand Style
Plano, Texas-Mayor Pat Evans welcomed students and their parents as well as the Saint Timothy Academy administration, faculty and supporters on Wednesday, August 9,
2006, as The Academy kicked off not only the first day of school for the 2006-07 school year but the beginning of a new era in academic success for children with learning
differences.
In addition, the Plano Chamber of Commerce held an official ribbon cutting ceremony marking Saint Timothy Academy's first day of official business of educating children
with learning differences in a Christ-centered environment.
"The support and assistance from the City of Plano in the development of Saint Timothy Academy has been overwhelming," says Saint Timothy Academy Headmaster Dr. Peggy
McMillan. "This area was in serious need of a Christian school like Saint Timothy Academy. At last we have a superior academic setting available for children with
learning differences in a faith-based environment."
The outstanding welcome from the City of Plano and the Plano Chamber of Commerce was only a portion of the spectacular August 9th official grand opening festivities
for the local faith based-school. The three part grand opening ceremony began with a touching opening day service at Christ Church Plano where each STA class received a
special prayer. Saint Timothy Academy students also receive their own personal Adventure Bible to mark the beginning of their new school year and their new journey at
Saint Timothy Academy.
The spectacular conclusion to the August 9th Saint Timothy Academy grand opening festivities was a special Narnia-themed knighting ceremony for the students. Each
student participated and received a special necklace commemorating the ceremony.
